How to Access WHM
Updated: 26 April 2024Step 1: Identify your WHM Login Information
In order to access WHM, you will first need to know your login credentials. This would typically be your username and password. If you don't have this information, you should reach out to your hosting provider. They should be able to provide you with the necessary details.
Step 2: Open Your Preferred Web Browser
Next, you need to open your preferred web browser. WHM is accessible via a web-based interface, and it does not require any special software to be installed on your computer. You can use any modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
Step 3: Enter your WHM URL
In your browser's address bar, type in your WHM URL. This will typically be in the format: https://yourdomain.com:2087 or https://yourIPaddress:2087. Remember to replace "yourdomain.com" or "yourIPaddress" with your actual domain name or IP address. The ":2087" at the end signifies the port number that WHM uses.
Using Unsecured HTTP
Always make sure you are using "https" and not "http" in your URL. The 's' in 'https' stands for 'secure' and indicates that your connection to the site will be encrypted. This is crucial for protecting your login credentials.
Step 4: Log In to WHM
Once you've entered your URL, you'll be taken to the WHM login page. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields and then click on the Log in button.
If your login details are correct, you'll be taken to your WHM dashboard, from where you can manage your hosting account. If you are unable to log in, double-check your credentials and try again. If you still can't get in, contact your hosting provider for assistance.
Remember Me Option
If you're accessing WHM from a private computer, you can check the 'Remember Me' box before logging in. This will save your login details and automatically log you in the next time you visit WHM. For security reasons, do not use this feature on public or shared computers.
Step 5: Navigating WHM
Once you're logged in, you can start using WHM. The interface might seem a bit overwhelming at first, especially if you're new to it. But don't worry, with a bit of time and practice, you'll get the hang of it. The main menu is on the left side of the screen, and it's divided into several sections. You can click on a section to expand it and see the available options.
Search Feature
If you're having trouble finding a particular function, use the search bar at the top of the main menu. This can save you a lot of time scrolling through the various options.
And that's it! You now know how to access and log in to WHM. Remember, WHM is a powerful tool, so be careful when making changes. Always double-check your work and don't hesitate to ask for help if you're not sure about something.
