IP blocker is a crucial tool in cPanel that allows you to block specific IP addresses from accessing your website. This tool is handy in preventing spam attacks or malicious activities. This tutorial will guide you on how to use the IP Blocker menu in cPanel.

Accessing IP Blocker

To access the IP blocker, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your cPanel account.
  2. Scroll down and locate the Security section.
  3. Click on the IP Blocker icon. This will take you to the IP Blocker menu.

Blocking an IP Address

To block an IP address, follow the steps below:

  1. Once you are in the IP Blocker menu, you will see an input box labeled Add an IP or Range.
  2. Enter the IP address or range you want to block.

    Note

You can specify denied IP addresses in the following formats:

    • Single IP Address
    • 192.168.0.1
    • 2001:db8::1

Blocking IP Ranges

When blocking an IP range, ensure that you are not blocking any legitimate users. For example, if you block an IP range that belongs to a large ISP, you might block valid traffic to your website.

Unblocking an IP Address

Unblocking an IP address is just as easy as blocking it. Follow these steps:

  1. Scroll down the IP Blocker menu to the Currently-Blocked IP Addresses section.
  2. Here, you will see a list of all blocked IP addresses or ranges. Locate the one you want to unblock and click on the Delete button next to it.
  3. A confirmation box will appear. Click on Remove IP to unblock the IP address or range.

Accidental Unblocking

Be cautious when unblocking IP addresses or ranges. Make sure you are not unblocking an IP address or range that was blocked for a valid reason.
