This tutorial teaches you how to remove a domain from your cPanel account.
How to redirect a domain with cPanel?
- Log into your cPanel account.
- Navigate to the Domains section.
- Click on Redirects.
- Create the Redirect
Fill in the necessary fields to set up your redirect:
- Type: Choose between a permanent (301) or temporary (302) redirect.
- http://(www.): Select the domain name you want to redirect.
- "/" directory: Specify the folder or file you want to redirect (optional).
- Redirects to: Enter the full URL of the destination where you want to redirect the traffic.
- www. redirection: Choose how you want to manage 'www' redirects.
- Wild Card Redirect: Decide if you want to redirect all files within a directory to the same filename in the new directory.
- After filling in all the details, click on the Add button to implement your redirect.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If the redirect is not working:
- Ensure you've chosen the correct type of redirect (301 vs 302).
- Check if the URL in the "Redirects to" field is correct and accessible.
- Look for any typos in the domain names or file paths.
- Contact your hosting provider for further assistance if issues persist.
