Modify an Account
Updated: 26 April 2024WHM, or Web Host Manager, is a comprehensive tool that allows administrative access to the back end of cPanel. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of modifying an account with WHM. This is an easy task when you understand the steps to follow.
Step 1: Login to WHM
The first step to modifying an account with WHM is logging into your WHM account. Input your username and password, and hit the 'Log in' button. Remember to always keep your login details secure.
Step 2: Navigate to 'Modify an Account'
Once logged in, look for the Account Functions section. This is usually located in the left-hand sidebar of your WHM dashboard. Click on it and a drop-down menu will appear. From this menu, select Modify an Account.
Step 3: Choose the Account to Modify
After clicking on 'Modify an Account', you will be directed to a new page with a list of all the accounts you manage. Scroll through this list and click on the account you want to modify.
Step 4: Modify the Account Details
When you have selected an account, a new page will appear displaying the account's current details. Here, you can modify various aspects of the account such as the contact email, quota, password, and more.
- To change the password, simply enter a new password into the Password field.
- To change the contact email, replace the existing email address in the Contact Email field with a new one.
- To change the quota, enter the new quota limit into the Quota field.
Step 5: Save Changes
After making the necessary modifications, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button. Your changes will now be saved and the account will be updated accordingly.
