Secure SSL/TLS Settings to Set Up Mail Client

This information can be used to set up your email account on various mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.
Username
Your username is your full email address, which will look something like username@example.com.
Password
This is the password for your email account. Be sure to keep it safe and secure.
Incoming Server and Port
The incoming server and port are used for incoming emails. The settings are as follows:
- Incoming Server: The mail server address used for incoming mail, which is mail.example.com.
- IMAP Port: The IMAP port is 993. This port is used if you want to keep your emails on the server and synchronize your mail across multiple devices.
- POP3 Port: The POP3 port is 995. This port is used if you want to download your emails to your device. Be aware that if you use this setting, your emails won't be synchronized across your devices.
Outgoing Server and Port
The outgoing server and port are used for sending emails. The settings are as follows:
- Outgoing Server (SMTP): The mail server address used for outgoing mail, it is the same as the incoming server, mail.example.com.
- SMTP Port: The SMTP port is 465. This port is used for sending mail.
Note on Ports
You might notice that there are different ports for incoming and outgoing mail. This is because the two types of mail are handled by different protocols (IMAP/POP3 for incoming, SMTP for outgoing) that use different ports.
Secure SSL/TLS Settings
In addition to the above settings, you also need to configure the SSL/TLS settings. These settings are used to secure your email communication. They encrypt the data that's sent between your mail client and the mail server, keeping your emails safe from prying eyes.
- SSL/TLS: This should be set to 'Yes' or 'Enabled' in your mail client to ensure that your email communication is encrypted.
Importance of SSL/TLS
Always make sure that SSL/TLS is enabled when setting up your email account on a mail client. If it's not enabled, your emails could be intercepted and read by others.
After you've entered all of these settings into your mail client, your cPanel email account should be set up and ready to use. You'll be able to send and receive emails securely, and your email communication will be encrypted.
