Email Filters

In this tutorial, we will cover the Email Filters feature available in the cPanel of your hosting account. This tool helps you manage the flow of incoming emails by setting up conditions to sort them automatically. Let's learn how to create, edit, delete, and test a filter.

Creating an Email Filter
- Log into your cPanel account.
- Navigate to the Email section and click on Email Filters.
- Click on the Manage Filters link next to the email account you want to create a filter for.
- Click on the Create a New Filter button.
- Enter a name for the filter in the Filter Name field.
- In the Rules section, define the conditions for the email filter.
- In the Actions section, define what action should be performed when the conditions are met.
- Click on the Create button to save the filter.
Remember
The filter name should be unique and descriptive to help you identify it later.
Editing an Email Filter
- Follow steps 1-3 from the 'Creating an Email Filter' section to reach the list of existing filters.
- Click on the Edit link next to the filter you want to modify.
- Make the necessary changes in the Rules and Actions sections.
- Click on the Update Filter button to save the changes.
Deleting an Email Filter
- Follow steps 1-3 from the 'Creating an Email Filter' section to reach the list of existing filters.
- Click on the Delete link next to the filter you want to remove.
- In the confirmation pop-up, click on the Delete Filter button to confirm the removal.
Be careful
Deleting a filter is irreversible. Make sure you no longer need the filter before you delete it.
Testing an Email Filter
- Follow steps 1-3 from the 'Creating an Email Filter' section to reach the list of existing filters.
- Click on the Test Filter button.
- In the Filter Test box, enter a sample message to test the filter.
- Click the Test Filter button to see the results of the test.
If the filter is set up correctly, it should perform the defined action on the sample message.
Testing
Always test your filters before you start using them to ensure they work as expected.
